A discussion with historian Frank DeFina, PhD

The public is invited to explore the role that America's neutrality in

the Spanish Civil War played in events leading to World War II.

Dr. Frank DeFina has enjoyed a varied academic, professional and personal life, including studying, teaching, and traveling in many countries.  With a B.S. in Education & English from SUNY, an M.A. in History from the University of New Mexico, and a Ph.D. in  Spanish-American History  from the University of Madrid, he has taught at all levels, elementary through university,  in the United States and other countries.

 

Dr. DeFina served as a Study Abroad Director in Sevilla and Madrid for    various American universities and studied and taught at the universities of Madrid, Granda, and Seville, where he was a Fulbright Lecturer. He also taught English and American Studies at various Chinese universities in  Shangahi, Nanjing,Chengdu, and Tianjin.  He is currently an adjunct         professor  teaching Literature, Writing and Spanish at Gateway Community College.

 

Dr. DeFina is an avid reader and  traveler, especially to Spain, whose history and culture continue to intrigue him.
